At a yellow sand beach across a bridge that dips into the water. The wilds of Africa through a river next to hippos. These races all have themed environments and music. Its tough to avoid pile ups at the first turn. This is geared for the arcade, rather than realism. Any pile of cars becomes dangerous as they push right into you rather than dodge you. With the racers being mini, it becomes a feat to spin someone around rather than just pushing them. Ramming someone out of your way or spinning them with such tight quarters is always a joy that other racing games have forgotten about. While the game hardly has realistic physics, the dirty play physics are great. The cars feel heavy, you can ram someone and push them around. Faster vehicles can ram into you and turn you around before the first turn. With more aggressive racers, it can become hazardous to even start a race. You race against five other cars for most of the game, but you do start out against one, two then three competitors and so on. At two hours in, I haven’t completed all of the easy beginners championship races. The races do get longer as you proceed further into what feels like it could be a long game. I say brief, because they’re still a quick shot of fun and never overstays its welcome. The cups transition smooth from one to the next and you can play any previous race.Īs for the races themselves, they’re brief on closed circuit courses that are only around a minute for three or four laps. Of course some cups can last twelve races, so its not limited to four. When you come in third place or higher of all races in the cup, it will unlock the next cup for you. These difficulties have a series of cups, each cup has four races. You start on easy and then after a few cups, you’ll unlock the next difficulty. Mini Motor Racing has three difficulty campaigns. You can also pick up cash on the track as well. Nitro canisters always appear on the track at random to give you an extra nitro block as long as you’re under your maximum. Its total risk or reward with this nitro boost and you’ll need it to overtake other vehicles that outmatch yours. Press the nitro button once to use a block and this nitro cannons you forward at a reckless pace. Like the majority of racing games, you also have a nitro button and in this game, it feels a lot different. There’s also no reverse, but that’s the side effect of being able to turn your car without hitting the gas. There is no momentum in this game, unless you’re pushing the gas. Letting off the accelerator will put you at a dead stop almost immediately. Your vehicle can turn on a dime, and often you’re going so fast that you’ll leave skid marks with every turn. The driving does take a bit of time to get used to. They still have a more typical control scheme of left and right to steer, but pointing the stick plays a lot better, there’s no overshooting your vehicle’s angle. Point the analog stick the way you want to go, much like non racing games. The first controller feels alien, yet its so right. The game has two major control schemes, both of which play excellent with a controller or keyboard and mouse. Its also a game that uses its licenses admirably from games like Team Fortress 2, Portal 2 and to my amazement Fruit Ninja. Its tough to get anything more into this package, but Mini Motor goes the extra mile with a map editor and online or network multiplayer. Its a beautiful game with a lot of diverse locales, fitting music, fun and challenge all rolled into one. The title is apt and descriptive, because you’re driving around in miniature vehicles. Mini Motor Racing EVO is an overhead racing game that’s a kin to the single screen arcade racers of the 80s. ![]() ![]() ![]() It doesnt count as a regular chest so the "An Ascetic Lifestyle" Quest is not gonna fail. And these collectively intelligent human groups are about to get much smarter. In this groundbreaking book, Thomas Malone, the founding director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence, shows how groups of people working together in superminds - like hierarchies, markets, democracies, and communities - have been responsible for almost all human achievements in business, government, science, and beyond. But there's another kind of entity that can be far smarter: groups of people. If you're like most people, you probably believe that humans are the most intelligent animals on our planet. This extraordinary union is the essence of the supermind and its power to begin transfiguring matter itself. From the founding director of the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence comes a fascinating look at the remarkable capacity for intelligence exhibited by groups of people and computers working together. Thus, the union of Emptiness (Spirit) and Form (the manifest world) is the union of Freedom and Fullness. This leads directly to a discussion of Freedom-which is the experience of Emptiness-and Fullness-which is the experience of oneness with the entire world of Form. One of the main conclusions is that the union of Emptiness and Form-which is how enlightenment is often conceived-must also mean the union of Emptiness and Evolution, because the world of form is evolving. ![]() Mike then laments the poverty of ideas about what occurs after enlightenment, and the discussion quickly focuses on the further reaches of embodiment. It concludes with the nature, radiance, and extraordinary transformative power of the supermind itself…. It moves to the necessity of an integral methodological pluralism to get at occasions such as the supermind focuses on why you can have an experience of the One and yet not have an experience of the supermind and derives a plausible theory to account for this (namely, the complexity of the manifest realm had to reach a certain evolutionary threshold before supermind could manifest easily). The dialogue opens with a discussion of Toward a Comprehensive Theory of Subtle Energies, one of Ken’s recent essays. It is not, however, for the intellectually faint of heart. This dialogue is warm, witty, loving, and vibrant. In this fast-paced and demanding dialogue, Mike and Ken discuss the nature of the “supermind”: its meanings, why it has not appeared previously in history on any sort of widespread scale, and why glimmers of its emergence are starting to happen now, today.

When drying into calcium carbonate it creates cure into the hard shape that it is molded into. When it is kept wet it stays in that form but in contact with oxygen it reacts and turns into calcium carbonate (also called limestone but chemically different). Also the product contains limestone in the form of hydrated calcium (calcium hydroxide). ![]() Rehydrating set PVA mentioned in previous comments is problematic +1. My understanding from a basic chemical point of view is: no, even if it looks similar it will be a different product without the strength or bonding qualities of the original. While not exactly your case, it should demonstrate how the curing reaction in joint compound is not simple drying, and can be broken by deviation from the proper conditions. This case study (now paywalled, see version) examines a case where the drywall contractors thinned excessively new drywall compound and got a similar result. You will essentially have drywall compound where a significant portion of the binder has already "dried", so when your rehydrated compound dries again, it won't bind as well as it should.Īs a result, you will get poor adhesion to the wall, and likewise paint will not adhere well. Even if you get all the lumps out, at a microscopic level you will still have a lot of polymerized PVA and other products of the reaction. Getting it wet then somewhat reverses this reaction, but not completely. PVA is water soluble, but by the time it has dried, the polymerization reaction that makes it work as a glue has already happened. For reference, see the USG Sheetrock all-purpose joint compound MSDS, which lists "vinyl alcohol polymer" as an ingredient. ![]() The reason is in the binder, the stuff that makes it harden and stick to the wall. While you can rehydrate mud, the rehydrated stuff you make will not perform acceptably. ![]() ![]() Fixed bug where trying to resize the Frames palette as soon as the first document opens would generate an error dialog.Fixed bug where the current document would not re-activate after clicking the lock icon (which would prevent you from moving or deleting a figure after you unlock it).Fixed bug where the mixed-state checkbox would sometimes not be clickable.Fixed bug where clicking the close box to stop playback would sometimes cause the StykzPlayer to pop back open again and continue playing.Fixed bug where the onionskin was not being redisplayed after exiting the StykzPlayer. ![]() Fixed bug where no recent documents where displayed in the File menu after you closed the last open Stykz document (on Mac this was represented by having an "Open Recent" menu item with no submenus).stk files were not importing properly (lines were at strange angles) Added warning dialog if you choose to export an animation to a size larger than the current stage size.Fixed bug where exporting to QuickTime would sometimes cause the progress window to "hang" at the the beginning of "Prepping for export".Fixed bug where exporting to QT wouldn't alert you properly if you were exporting to an existing file path.Fixed bug where hitting the Enter key while creating a segment with right-click-and-drag would generate an error.Fixed bug where creating new figures with the node size set to anything else other than "Normal" would first create the line with normal sized nodes, and then afterwards it would "snap" to the selected node size.Changed selection behavior so that if you just click on a single figure (or component) of a selected group of figures (or components), the other elements become deselected and the thing you clicked on becomes the only selection.Added option to use CTRL-click (Win) or Cmd-click (Mac) to add segments or remove segments from a selection this is an alternative to using the SHIFT key (which continues to work as before).Fixed bug where deleting multiple segments at once could put the figure into an odd state where the nodes don't turn red when you click on the figure with the Select tool.Fixed bug where it was possible to have multiple figures selected, but when you clicked on the drag node, it would only drag one of them.Fixed bug where nodes were not being shown on a selected figure when switching to the PolyFill tool.Fixed bug where interface was showing "Classic"-style buttons on Mac PowerPCs.If you want to reuse your figures, so your animations have a consistent look, it is simple just to copy and paste to reuse your figures in Stykz.Just a quick note to wish you a "Merry Stykzmas" and to let you know that a bugfix build of RC 4 is now available for download. ![]() So, why was my battery going dead? And, why was my Jeep dying? I removed the flexible plastic cover from the wires coming off the battery and the alternator to discover, (a) they were unusually small in diameter and (b) they had several burn marks along the wire run. If I disconnected the cables, the Jeep would die with in 5 minute. When connected, the Jeep ran OK, it stalled every know and then, but would start back up after a few seconds. I connected my 1/0-AWG jumper cables between my Jeep and my car. I discovered an issue with the wiring after I had played the role of a typical mechanic testing and swapping out all of the usual culprits. Chrysler engineers used 8-AWG wiring from the alternator and 6-AWG for the starter and the negative/ground. ![]() Something none of the experts even considered. It ended up being the wire going from the Alternator to the battery and fuse box. Needless to say everyone had a different solution. I researched the internet, Jeep clubs, and spoke with several mechanics. I have had an issue with my Jeep randomly stalling for about 3 years. Let us know your results and we can go further. If there is no power, there is an open in the harness to the pump from the fuse block. If there is power, the fuel pump took a dump and needs to be replaced. Remember that there will be power for only 2 seconds, so have your helper cycle the key on and off as you check the terminals, allowing 5 seconds between cycling for the computer to reset. Use a circuit tester and test the harness side for power as your helper turns the key on and off. It will be easy to find and has four wires in the connector. ![]() Unplug the fuel pump connector at the back of the fuel tank. To be absolutely sure, raise and support the back of the Jeep on jack stands, unless the height allows you to crawl under the back without raising it. It could be a sensor or computer-related problem. If not, the engine should be checked for spark. If it starts, the fuel pump is the problem. Spray some carburetor cleaner into the throttle body. Take off the air cleaner and hold the throttle plate open with your hand. If not, there is a bad wire under the fuse block to the battery it should have constant power at one terminal. Remove the relay and test the terminals that it was plugged into for power with the key off. If there is no pressure, replace the cap and check the relay. Be ready to release the Schrader if there is fuel pressure, for it will come out fairly steady. If not, hold the Schrader in and have the helper turn the key on. Take a small screwdriver and push in on the Schrader to see if fuel comes out in force. If so, then look to see if fuel is the problem by removing the cap on the Schrader valve on the fuel rail on top of the injectors. Check to see if the fuse to the fuel pump is good. If the pump cannot be heard, then replace the cap and lift the hood. Have the helper turn on the key for 3 seconds and off for 5 seconds and on again a couple of times. The computer shuts the power off to the pump if it does not see a signal from the crankshaft sensor. The pump runs for only 2 seconds at a time when the engine is not running. Starting from the basics, take off the fuel cap and listen closely for the fuel pump to come on as a helper turns on the ignition key. ![]() If you feel that the fuel pump has failed, then this is the proper way of diagnosing the problem before replacing an item that may not be needed. ![]() ![]() ![]() The first step is to become familiar with the data. Having a large qualitative data set can be overwhelming. How to use Thematic Analysis Step 1: Familiarize yourself with the data It is important that you decide which method (either inductive or deductive) to use before you start the thematic analysis! If you’ve ever used a grounded theory approach, you’ve probably done inductive analysis. It often takes longer but can be more thorough and exploratory than deductive coding. This is also known as ‘open coding.’ This is an iterative process that involves lots of refinement and multiple rounds of analysis. Inductive is a method of coding that allows the data to determine your themes. theme.” Deductive coding can save time and help guarantee your areas of interest are coded, but you also need to be careful of bias. These can be captured by creating a code such as “Unexpected info” or “Misc. It is important that other ‘unexpected’ themes are not missed. These codes might come from previous research, or you might already know what themes you are interested in looking for. It starts with a predefined set of codes which are then assigned to the qualitative data set. In our experience, deductive analysis is more common than inductive analysis in evaluation. Deductive Studies:ĭeductive is coming to the data with predetermined themes that you expect to find based on existing knowledge or established evaluation questions. However, some steps will not be as long in a deductive process. The method is suitable for both inductive and deductive studies which are described below. These steps were defined by Braun & Clarke (2008) in this article which is paywalled. The most common method of thematic analysis follows a 5 or 6 step process: 1) familiarization 2) coding 3) generating themes 4) reviewing themes 5) defining and naming themes and 6) reporting. It is also a good method to follow when you want to find out people’s views, opinions, knowledge, or experience on a topic. The method makes sense of large amounts of information so that responses to a research question can emerge. In short, thematic analysis is a way of producing themes from texts such as interview or focus group transcripts. Thematic analysis provides you with the opportunity to go through your data in a methodical and thorough way to identify themes and patterns. Make sure you manage your data by keeping a master list of codes (if coding by hand) and backing up any work you complete in analysis software.Ĭompleting a clear and organized analysis of qualitative data is extremely important. This ensures that your readers are aware of the process you followed. Transparency is key! Your methods for analysis should be clearly described and documented. Having someone review it will support validation of your codes and themes, and reduce bias. Everyone looks at qualitative data slightly differently. If possible, walk through your process and codes with a colleague or team member. This is definitely a learn-by-doing method. It takes practice and you won’t get it right on the first go. This will stop you from getting carried away and over-coding data that is not relevant.ĭon’t rush! Leave yourself plenty of time for qualitative data coding and analysis. ![]() Read, read, and read your data again! Coding is only efficient when you are completely familiar with your entire data set.Īlthough this is an exploratory method, keep the purpose of your research in mind. ![]() |
